Newborn Glimpse | Utah Family Photographer | Newborn Photographers in Utah

There’s nothing quite as special as the bond between a mother and her children.

As a photographer, it’s always an honor to capture those moments of love and connection. And when a family comes dressed in gorgeous outfits from the studio wardrobe collection, it’s a treat for the eyes and the heart.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful momma and her newborn baby girl.   The moment she walked into the studio with her older daughter, I knew it was going to be a special session.  The momma was glowing and the girls were just as adorable as could be.

The outfits they had chosen from our collection were absolutely stunning.  The momma was wearing a flowing floral dress that perfectly complemented her glowing complexion, while her older daughter was in a matching dress with delicate lace details.   Her sweet baby was swaddled in a soft, creamy wrap that made her look like a little angel.

As we began the session, I could see the love and joy radiating from the family.  Momma was so attentive to her girls, showering. them with affection and attention.   The older daughter was so excited to be a big sister (again) and doted over her little sister.  This sweet baby slept peacefully throughout the entire session as if she knew she was surrounded by so much love.

I captured so many beautiful moments during our time together.  The way this momma gazed adoringly at her newborn daughter, the laughter and playfulness between sisters, and the serene calm that enveloped the entire family.

As I looked through the final images, I couldn’t help but feel so grateful to have been a part of this family’s journey, from photographing her maternity and newborn session of her son (more to come of him later) to her newest arrival of her baby girl.

The above dresses, baby wrap, headband, and bow are provided by My Studio Wardrobe and are available for your session.

When’s the last time you were in a photo, really in it—not behind the camera, not cropped out?
Maybe it’s time.
You’re already doing it—loving, protecting, carrying.
Even before they arrive.
Those sleepy stretches, curled-up toes, and soft sighs—they won't stay this small forever.
This might be the time to hold onto it all.
.
Not much was said.
Didn’t have to be.

I walked in and found him snuggling and soothing his baby, as if they’d done this a hundred times before.

Sometimes the strength of fatherhood looks like this—
quiet arms, steady breath, and the soft way he leans in.

These are the moments I never rush.
Because I know years from now, they’ll both come back to it—
not through words, but through feeling.

That sweet, chubby, smile-all-day, roll-everywhere, drool-on-everything stage.
The newborn softness is fading, but they’re still small enough to curl up in your arms.
Still need you in the middle of the night.
Still giggle at your face like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to them.
(And to be fair—you are.)

It’s such a tender in-between.
They’re no longer brand new…
but still so very little.

Every day they’re learning something new.
And every day, you’re letting go of something you didn’t realize was ending.

That’s why I love this stage in photographs—
The dimples. The drool. The way their whole face lights up when you say their name.
It’s pure magic, and it passes too fast.

What do you miss most about the baby stage?
Or if you’re in it now—what are you trying to soak in while it lasts?
