the motherhood collective | vol. 1

So I gotta admit, this project makes me nervous.  Reeealy nervous!  One of the hardest things to do for many photographers is to jump on the other side of a lens.  Of course I’m sure it’s hard for anyone to get in front of a lens if your not used to it, but many photographers find themselves diving into creating beautiful pictures, but without them in it.  So here I am, facing my fears and diving into a project that is a complete symbol of what I feel the heart of my business is all about.  Capturing Motherhood.  Love.  Memories.

This MOHTERHOOD COLLECTIVE project is one where a bunch of photographers post monthly “selfie” images of “us” with our kids.   We then LINK to another beautiful talented PHOTOGRAPHER in the circle, and she links to another, and so on and so forth until the circle is complete, leading back to me.

So while this is  a single image of just myself, due to my kids not being home all day (and I just joined in on the project) 😉   I would love to invite you to click on the circle of photographers who are as passionate about photography, love, and connections as I am.  And come back each month as we will be adding new circle of photos toward the end of each month, starting with my friend Amanda Gibbs Photography from Atlanta Georgia.  Enjoy the ride!

Thinking of spring? Feels like we haven't had winter here yet with this record breaking heat in December, but I'm feeling ready for longer days, early morning walks, flowers budding and signs of new life.
Motherhood stretches you, changes you, fills you in ways nothing else can.
These are the days when time both stretches and disappears. One day blends into the next, and suddenly they’re a month old.

2025, you were full in the best way.
This year in the studio looked like little fingers wrapped around mama’s hand, brand new babies settling into safe arms, tiny smiles turning into belly laughs, and families learning how to just be together long enough for it to show.
I’m still undone by how fast it all goes.
Thank you for trusting me with your season.
For showing up tired, hopeful, pregnant, postpartum, joyful, tender, and real.
These highlights are a little love letter to the families I got to work with in 2025.
Here’s to more connection, more presence, and more moments that actually matter.
Eight years of tradition.
Eight years of families walking through these doors, year after year.

Some of these kids have been coming since they were babies. Some have grown up and moved on, and that feels just as meaningful. Being a small part of their childhood memories is something I’m truly grateful for.

Here’s a glimpse into a full day of quiet moments, nervous smiles, whispered conversations, and the calm magic that happens before Santa even says hello.

I’m deeply grateful to the families who trust me with this tradition, and to the Santa who has shown up year after year and become part of so many childhood memories.

When I first started this, I had no idea how it would be received. I’m so grateful it’s become part of so many families’ holiday traditions.
